Tamworth Pioneers Portrait Leadership Development Program
10X-Tamworth – Honouring Leaders
This program is about developing the leadership capacity of the community. It is envisaged that the ‘Honouring Pioneers’, using the portrait and TED-type speak event, will become an annual event to highlight and encourage community contribution, creating a ‘Hall of Founders/Pioneers’ of the Tamworth Regional area community. Aunty Yvonne Kent being the first of many who may include; Bruce Treloar, Noel Park, and many others.
We are a volunteer organization, made up of passionate Tamworthian, bringing skills, knowledge, resources, and connections to the Tamworth LGA (alongside running our businesses or work). We are made up of a small board, many supporters, and local & global advisors. Our work is made possible only through sponsorship and donations.
The late Aunty Yvonne Kent is our first pioneer for this program. She is being selected for many reasons, the top one being Aunty's example of an inclusive, relationship based model of leadership.
WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE KAMILAROI PEOPLE AS THE TRADITIONAL CUSTODIANS OF THE LAND ON WHICH WE WORK AND LIVE. WE RECOGNISE THE STRENGTH, RESILIENCE AND CAPACITY OF OUR ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY. WE HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR THE ELDERS PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. WE ASPIRE TO JOIN EQUALLY WITH OUR INDIGENOUS BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN WORKING TO CREATE A HEALTHY AND PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE WHOLE OF OUR COMMUNITY.
